UFC, Inc. - MuWave Software

UFC has developed it's own line of custom software under the name MuWave. MuWave software is designed to work with the Quillix Capture and ABBYY Capture suites, to enhance, improve or simply to provide features not available 'out of the box'. A Quillix Server eXtension (QSX) module provides the automation muscle in the capture workflow. They act as independent rules engines, managing specific processing tasks and determining multiple outcomes for work case routing, indexing, exception handling and release. The QSX architecture extends the Quillix and ABBYY servers' capture process out to third-party applications and systems such as Laserfiche and FileNet. The modules scale easily and can be called into action at any point in a batch or document-level workflow process. Most often they are invoked at the end of a capture process, where they automatically handle the release of captured information to document management, workflow, or data repository systems.

MuWave modules provide an advanced scripting interface called MuWave Script which utilizes standard Visual Basic. This greatly extends the capability of the capture software by providing a built-in mechanism for customization without the need to build a new module. The MuWave modules also include built-in trigger events for use with the MuWave Reports product which provides capture of metrics.

MuWave QSX for FileNet®

Provides integration of the Quillix capture solution with FileNet®. This provides the ability to scan documents into FileNet® Image Manager or Panagon Content Services through FileNet® Web Services. The product includes sophisticated automatic document indexing which maps Quillix profiles directly to FileNet document classes.

MuWave Email Gateway QSX

Used as a Quillix Input source and captures email from inboxes and submits the email along with attachments to the Quillix system. Can use IMAP, SMTP and MAPI to support most mail server configurations. Built in MuWave Script allows complex operations to be performed on the email prior to submission to the Quillix system.

MuWave Batch Transfer

MuWave Batch Transfer is a client-server extension for the Quillix system that allows the background transfer of Quillix batches from the Quillix Web client to the Quillix server. This background transfer allows the use of Quillix in areas with limited bandwidth, or when large data transfers and network traffic would not be desired during business hours.

MuWave OCR QSX

Processes scanned images and produces a searchable, text-based document to be passed through the Quillix workflow system. This module produces various document types such as hidden-text PDF, RTF, Word, or HTML. MuWave QSX for OCR utilizes the ABBYY FineReader OCR engine which is capable of recognizing 176 different languages.

MuWave Barcode Generator

Allows for the creation of many common barcode formats through an easy to use web based interface. Options for creating barcodes from database data as well as interdependent barcodes, free text barcodes, and static value barcodes. Provides comprehensive features from within the Quillix web client for storing and printing batch cover sheets for use while scanning.

MuWave ABBYY/Laserfiche Connector

The MuWave ABBYY/Laserfiche Connector allows documents to be exported from ABBYY FlexiCapture 8.0 or higher to any Laserfiche 7.x or 8.x system. The FlexiCapture template names and index values may be mapped to Laserfiche templates and fields and filing into Laserfiche folders is also supported. MuWave Laserfiche Connector for ABBYY Flexi-Capture is configured in an export script in Flexi-Capture and allows documents to be exported to Laserfiche with the click of a single button.

MuWave PDF Optimizer

MuWave® PDF Optimizer is Quillix server extension that standardizes and optimizes PDF files. This prevents users from having issues opening the PDF files using a PDF viewer. MuWave® PDF Optimizer completely regenerates each PDF while providing the option to maintain the PDF in a searchable format. Advanced properties of the PDFs such as font embedding may be changed.

MuWave Import

MuWave® Import is an input source for Quillix servers that provides high speed file import capabilities to Quillix. MuWave® Import can process images and other files from MFPs and copiers. The images and files are inserted into Quillix batches and these batches can be indexed using the metadata index files provided by the MFP or copier. Advanced options enable the scan logon ID for the new batch to be calculated. In addition outage intervals can be configured to prevent picking up files during certain intervals or when servers are unavailable. Database operations are also supported.

MuWave FileNet Input Module

MuWave® FileNet Input is an input source for Quillix servers that migrates documents from FileNet Image Services or Content Services libraries or P8 Content Manager object stores into Quillix batches. MuWave® FileNet Input makes it possible to migrate a partial or entire library or object store into another FileNet library or object store or into a completely different platform. MuWave® FileNet Input provides numerous document selection options such as the whole library, document class, selected documents based on an index, or even a list of document IDs obtained from a database.
